An index (term) is a word or phrase that is used regularly in your writing, but does not need a definition (see Glossary). 

Tips 

1. Create an index list of words or phrases that you use regularly specific to different academic disciplines (e.g., accounting, medicine, law)

2. Index entries can be categorised into different lists. This can be useful for creating an index smart list that lists only those terms in that specific list. For example, the index for a specific thesis, project or client.
